How we know

It hasn't been reposted, listed twice, or left up unusually long, and the posting doesn't say it's a talent pool.

Ghostless records the day it first sees a posting, so a repost can't reset its age. This one was already up when Ghostless started tracking Clearwater Analytics, so its true age is longer.

Last checked Nov 2, 2026.

About the role

Job Summary

The Applications team within Risk & Performance Engineering builds the flagship applications our clients rely on every day, such as Trade Blotter, Beacon Quote and Risk Workstation. Most are developed in Python on our in-house Glint SDK, with a growing number of React applications backed by Python services.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will own projects from scoping through to delivery, working across the full stack and with teams across the business. We want a self-starter with high engineering standards and a real commitment to our clients. We use AI agents, including Claude Code, to accelerate development safely, and you will do the same while taking full ownership of the code you deliver.

Responsibilities

  • Own projects end to end, from scoping and sequencing through to execution, rollout and delivery.
  • Drive work forward with minimal oversight, coordinating with other teams to keep it on track.
  • Design, build, deploy and maintain simple, well-structured, thoroughly tested code in Python and React, including the Glint SDK.
  • Use AI agents such as Claude Code to speed up development, reviewing and taking ownership of all output to meet our quality standards.
  • Implement automated testing at multiple levels, including unit, integration and end-to-end.
  • Review code and mentor colleagues, sharing knowledge and best practice.
  • Lead design and feature discussions, championing performance, scalability, reliability and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents promptly.
  • Undertake any other reasonable activities required by management.

Required skills and experience

  • Excellent proficiency in Python.
  • Familiarity with React, TypeScript or JavaScript, and comfort working across the full stack.
  • Working knowledge of Claude Code and effective usage patterns, with the discipline to use AI agents safely, responsibly and only to produce code you fully understand and stand behind.
  • A proven self-starter with the initiative to scope, plan and deliver with minimal direction.
  • Deep knowledge of software methodologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization and time management, with a record of delivering to deadlines.
  • A strong focus on client satisfaction and user experience.
  • A commitment to continuous learning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other essential applications.

Preferred skills and experience

  • Strong React and TypeScript experience, in preference to other front-end frameworks.
  • Experience with trading and risk management solutions, or the wider financial domain.
  • Understanding of architectural design patterns, such as MVC.
  • Familiarity with Playwright for end-to-end testing.
  • Familiarity working in VS Code.

Education and experience

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, ideally in Python or React.

What We Offer

  • Business casual atmosphere in a flexible working environment
  • Team-focused culture that promotes innovation and ownership
  • Access cutting-edge investment reporting technology and expertise
  • Defined and undefined career pathways, allowing you to grow your way
  • Competitive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits
  • Maternity and paternity leave
  • Personal Time Off and Volunteer Time Off to give back to the community
  • Work from anywhere 3 weeks out of the year
  • Work from home Fridays
