How we know

It hasn't been reposted, listed twice, or left up unusually long, and the posting doesn't say it's a talent pool.

Ghostless records the day it first sees a posting, so a repost can't reset its age. This one was already up when Ghostless started tracking Base Power, so its true age is longer.

Last checked Nov 4, 2026.

What it asks of you

2+ years of experience
“2+ years of experience building production software in product or full-stack engineering roles” (quoted from the posting)

What the posting discloses

Not stated: Pay, real vacancy, AI screening.

Why these three

Ontario requires postings from employers with 25 or more staff to state the pay, whether the vacancy exists, and whether AI screens applicants.

Some employers add pay only on their own site. Check the original posting before you rule it out.

About the role

About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

Base is a power company that installs a battery at your home. Most homeowners have never heard of that, and most don’t like their electric utility. That’s our growth challenge. A homeowner has to understand a new kind of product, trust a company they just met, and finish an onboarding journey to get a battery installed. Every step is a chance to earn them or lose them.

Base is growing fast, in Texas and nationwide. We’re hiring a full stack engineer to own the products and systems that drive acquisition (getting found), activation (going from sign-up to a working battery) and retention (staying with Base and telling neighbors). That means 1) experimenting on and scaling our existing product, and 2) building new growth products and infrastructure from scratch.

Judgment is a core part of the job: knowing where to create leverage, which friction matters and which problems are worth solving. We care about conversion, but never at the expense of clarity, trust or the long-term quality of the brand.

This is a lean team that moves fast and gives you real ownership. We’re not looking for someone to execute a handed-down roadmap. We want someone who finds the opportunities, works from first principles and ships.

What You’ll Do

  • Turn ideas into shipped tests across the member journey, from redesigned sign-up flows to paid ads campaigns and referral experiences
  • Write the code, read the results and decide what to test next
  • Own the products and systems that drive acquisition, activation and retention
  • Build the growth infrastructure that makes experimentation fast and trustworthy, including the data pipeline behind it
  • Use judgment on where to create leverage and which problems are worth solving, optimizing for conversion without sacrificing clarity or trust
  • Find opportunities and work from first principles rather than executing a handed-down roadmap

What You’ll Bring

  • 2+ years of experience building production software in product or full-stack engineering roles
  • Strong frontend and full-stack engineering skills, with comfort across modern web applications, APIs, data models, and stateful user experiences.
  • Strong product judgment and a track record of turning ambiguous ideas into shipped, useful products.
  • Experience building in 0-to-1 or fast-moving environments where user needs, product shape, and success metrics are still evolving.
  • Experience using product analytics, experimentation, and data to guide decisions
  • Ready to work with intensity and urgency, and to hold a high bar for your own output.

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.

Our Values

  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.
  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.
  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.
  • Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.
  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.
  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.
  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.

Do the best work of your life at Base.
