How we know

It hasn't been reposted, listed twice, or left up unusually long, and the posting doesn't say it's a talent pool.

Ghostless records the day it first sees a posting, so a repost can't reset its age. This one was already up when Ghostless started tracking Ubds, so its true age is longer.

Last checked Nov 4, 2026.

What it asks of you

Security clearance required
“Security Clearance” (quoted from the posting)
Equivalent experience accepted instead of a degree
“Terraform certification or equivalent practical experience.” (quoted from the posting)

What the posting discloses

Not stated: Pay, real vacancy, AI screening.

Why these three

Ontario requires postings from employers with 25 or more staff to state the pay, whether the vacancy exists, and whether AI screens applicants.

Some employers add pay only on their own site. Check the original posting before you rule it out.

About the role

Azure DevOps Engineer

At UBDS Group, we simplify complexity and deliver innovative, secure solutions at pace. As we continue to grow our cloud and engineering capabilities, we're looking for an Azure DevOps Engineer to support the development, deployment and ongoing improvement of secure, scalable cloud platforms and delivery pipelines for our clients.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on Microsoft Azure, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation and cloud infrastructure, including Azure Storage and Azure Files.

You'll work alongside experienced Cloud Engineers, Architects, Security specialists and delivery teams to automate infrastructure, improve deployment processes and support the delivery of reliable cloud solutions.

We're looking for someone with practical Azure and DevOps experience who is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day engineering tasks, solving technical problems and continuing to develop their expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, configure and maintain Azure cloud environments and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
  • Create, support and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and application deployments.
  • Configure, manage and support Azure Storage services, including Azure Files and storage accounts.
  • Support cloud-based file shares, storage permissions and hybrid file storage solutions.
  • Troubleshoot storage connectivity, access, permissions and performance issues.
  • Assist with file storage migrations and integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Support the development of reusable infrastructure modules and deployment templates.
  • Implement automated testing, security checks and quality controls within deployment pipelines.
  • Apply DevOps and DevSecOps principles across engineering activities.
  • Work with Architects and senior engineers to implement cloud solutions based on agreed designs.
  • Support Azure networking, identity, compute, storage and security services.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting across cloud environments.
  • Investigate and resolve infrastructure, pipeline and deployment issues.
  • Support infrastructure changes, upgrades and platform improvements.
  • Contribute to containerisation and modern application deployment practices where appropriate.
  • Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures and operational runbooks.
  • Work collaboratively within Agile delivery teams and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure in a cloud engineering or DevOps role.
  • Practical experience using Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines and repositories.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Bicep.
  • Understanding of automated cloud deployments and infrastructure provisioning.
  • Working knowledge of Azure services, including networking, identity, compute and storage.
  • Working knowledge of Azure Storage services, including Azure Files and storage accounts.
  • Understanding of file sharing, SMB connectivity, access permissions and storage security.
  • Experience with Git and source-control practices.
  • Good understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD processes.
  • Some experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash or Python.
  • Understanding of cloud monitoring, logging and troubleshooting.
  • Awareness of cloud security principles, identity and access management, RBAC and secure configuration.
  • Experience investigating and resolving technical infrastructure or deployment issues.
  • Understanding of cloud reliability, scalability and availability.
  • Experience working within Agile or multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently on defined tasks while collaborating with senior engineers and technical specialists.

Desirable Experience

  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104 or AZ-400.
  • Terraform certification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with Azure File Sync and hybrid file storage environments.
  • Experience migrating traditional file shares to Azure Files.
  • Familiarity with Azure Storage networking, private endpoints and identity-based authentication.
  • Experience automating Azure Storage configuration using Terraform, Bicep or PowerShell.
  • Exposure to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Azure Landing Zones or enterprise Azure environments.
  • Familiarity with GitOps practices.
  • Exposure to policy-as-code or automated governance.
  • Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics or Application Insights.
  • Understanding of automated security scanning within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with configuration management or automation tooling.
  • Experience working within public sector, financial services or other regulated environments.
  • Exposure to UK Government security requirements.

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of some of our client engagements, candidates must be eligible and willing to obtain and maintain UK Security Check (SC) clearance.

Candidates who already hold current SC clearance are particularly encouraged to apply.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an Azure DevOps Engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work and is motivated to develop their cloud engineering capabilities.

You'll have practical experience working with Azure, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code, alongside an understanding of Azure infrastructure and storage services.

You don't need to be an expert across every Azure service or have extensive architecture experience. We're looking for someone with solid technical foundations, a willingness to learn and the confidence to contribute to engineering delivery.

You'll be comfortable working independently on familiar tasks, seeking guidance when needed and collaborating with experienced engineers and architects to deliver secure, reliable cloud solutions.

This is an opportunity to build on your existing Azure and DevOps experience while gaining exposure to complex cloud environments, modern engineering practices and a broad range of client projects.
