How we know

It hasn't been reposted, listed twice, or left up unusually long, and the posting doesn't say it's a talent pool.

Ghostless records the day it first sees a posting, so a repost can't reset its age.

Last checked Nov 3, 2026.

What it asks of you

Equivalent experience accepted instead of a degree
“Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience” (quoted from the posting)

What the posting discloses

Not stated: Pay, real vacancy, AI screening.

Why these three

Ontario requires postings from employers with 25 or more staff to state the pay, whether the vacancy exists, and whether AI screens applicants.

Some employers add pay only on their own site. Check the original posting before you rule it out.

About the role

Overview

Who we are

Collaborative. Respectful. A place to dream and do. These are just a few words that describe what life is like at Toyota. As one of the world’s most admired brands, Toyota is growing and leading the future of mobility through innovative, high-quality solutions designed to enhance lives and delight those we serve. We’re looking for talented team members who want to Dream. Do. Grow. with us.

An important part of the Toyota family is Toyota Financial Services (TFS), the finance and insurance brand for Toyota and Lexus in North America. While TFS is a separate business entity, it is an essential part of this world-changing company- delivering on Toyota's vision to move people beyond what's possible. At TFS, you will help create best-in-class customer experience in an innovative, collaborative environment.

Toyota does not offer support or sponsorship of job applicants for employment-based visas or any other work authorization for this role now or in the future. You must have the right to work in the United States and not require Toyota support or sponsorship for immigration-related employment (e.g., H-1B, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, ‘job flexibility benefits’ [also known as I-140 or Adjustment of Status portability], etc.) now or in the future. You should not apply for this role if you will require Toyota to assist with immigration support or sponsorship now or in the future.

Who we’re looking for

Toyota Financial Services is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Software Engineer to join our growing technology team.

This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to accelerate their development by working on modern, cloud-native applications and platforms. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, gain hands-on exposure to industry-leading technologies, and contribute to building high-impact solutions used at scale.

This is a hybrid position based in Plano, TX and candidates must reside within a commutable distance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver features from concept to production
  • Build and maintain scalable, cloud-native services on AWS as part of a collaborative engineering team
  • Contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and team planning sessions
  • Write clean, well-tested code in TypeScript, Python or Java following engineering best practices
  • Participate in code reviews — both giving and receiving feedback to grow your skills and improve code quality
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues across the stack with support from senior engineers
  • Learn and apply engineering best practices: testing, observability, version control, and deployment workflows
  • Take ownership of well-scoped tasks and deliver them with increasing independence over time

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • (bootcamp, self-taught with portfolio, etc.)
  • Up to 2 years of software engineering experience (internships and academic projects count)
  • Foundational knowledge of at least one backend language — TypeScript or Python or Java preferred
  • Basic understanding of RESTful APIs — how they work, how to build and consume them
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows (branching, pull requests, code review)
  • Contribute to team planning sessions, code reviews, testing and production support activities
  • Exposure to cloud services (AWS preferred) even at a conceptual level (what Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB do)
  • Experience with writing unit tests and integration tests aligned with quality standards
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset — you're comfortable saying "I don't know" and then going to figure it out
  • Good communication skills — you can explain what you're working on and ask for help when you need it

Added bonus if you have

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, or S3
  • Familiarity with serverless architecture concepts
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform)
  • Exposure to containerized workloads (Docker, ECS)
  • Experience with observability tools (Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar)
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal project portfolio
  • Experience in using AI-assisted coding tools like Github Copilot
  • AWS certifications (Cloud Practitioner, Developer Associate)

What we’ll bring

During your interview process, our team can fill you in on all the details of our industry-leading benefits and career development opportunities. A few highlights include

  • A work environment built on teamwork, flexibility, and respect
  • Professional growth and development programs to help advance your career, as well as tuition reimbursement
  • Team Member Vehicle Purchase Discount
  • Toyota Team Member Lease Vehicle Program (if applicable)
  • Comprehensive health care and wellness plans for your entire family
  • Toyota 401(k) Savings Plan featuring a company match, as well as an annual retirement contribution from Toyota regardless of whether you contribute (if applicable)
  • Paid holidays and paid time off
  • Referral services related to prenatal services, adoption, childcare, schools and more
  • Tax Advantaged Accounts (Health Savings Account, Health Care FSA, Dependent Care FSA)
