How we know

It hasn't been reposted, listed twice, or left up unusually long, and the posting doesn't say it's a talent pool.

Ghostless records the day it first sees a posting, so a repost can't reset its age.

Last checked Nov 3, 2026.

What the posting discloses

Not stated: Pay, real vacancy, AI screening.

Why these three

Ontario requires postings from employers with 25 or more staff to state the pay, whether the vacancy exists, and whether AI screens applicants.

Some employers add pay only on their own site. Check the original posting before you rule it out.

About the role

Summary

The Senior Full Stack Engineer designs, builds and ships software across Learnosity's Build product, our cloud-based API toolkit that educational companies use to create interactive and accessible assessment experiences at scale.

This role sits within Technology - Build and works across the full stack: JavaScript, React and CSS on the front end, and PHP, Python, Postgres/MySQL, Elasticsearch and AWS on the back end. You will own work from early design through to release, working closely with product, design and senior leadership to turn roadmap goals into software customers use.

This role helps the team ship faster without lowering quality. You will lead complex projects end to end, raise the standard of design and code through review and mentoring, and use AI tools to speed up delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the design and delivery of maintainable, well-engineered software across the Build product, balancing immediate needs with long-term technical health
  • Lead task planning, estimation and scheduling, and keep documentation current throughout
  • Translate product and business goals into clear engineering solutions, proving out complex functionality with real data before release
  • Find the root cause of complex issues and deliver permanent fixes, spotting risks before they become problems
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and raise the quality of design and delivery across the team
  • Work with engineering, product and design to align on shared goals and keep delivery on track
  • Use AI tools and introduce new technologies where they help the team deliver faster

Requirements

Skills and Experience

Required

  • 5+ years as a software engineer, with a track record of owning and delivering complex projects end to end
  • Strong JavaScript and ReactJS, including state management (e.g. Redux, Context API), component-based architecture, design systems, CSS and front end debugging
  • Strong PHP, ideally with Symfony and/or Doctrine, and Python in a backend or data-oriented context
  • Experience with relational, NoSQL and document-oriented databases and query design in high performance environments
  • Good knowledge of design patterns and back end architecture
  • Experience writing unit, integration and frontend tests, working with Docker, and giving strong code reviews
  • Experience mentoring engineers and working in agile teams
  • Clear verbal and written communication, adjusted to the audience

Nice to Have

  • Commercial experience with AI tools and concepts
  • Experience or interest in API design
  • Experience with TDD
  • Experience setting up or configuring CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Node.js
  • B.Sc or M.Sc in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar

Key Behaviours

  • Owns work from first idea to release and follows through on commitments
  • Brings clarity to complex or ambiguous problems, makes sound technical decisions and explains the trade-offs
  • Proves out complex functionality with real data and tunes it until the results hold up
  • Adapts quickly as priorities and tools change, and tries new approaches, including AI, to deliver faster
  • Shares knowledge openly and helps others succeed, in line with our value that our success is better shared
  • Picks the long-term fix over the quick patch when it matters

Success in this Role

In the first 6–12 months, success in this role would look like

  • Owned and released at least one complex Build feature end to end, from design through to customers using it
  • Became a trusted reviewer and mentor for less experienced engineers in the team
  • Built strong working relationships with product, design and engineering leads on the Build roadmap
  • Found and permanently fixed the root cause of recurring issues in an area of the codebase you own
  • Introduced or improved a practice the team now relies on, such as AI-assisted development, testing or CI/CD
