How we know

It hasn't been reposted, listed twice, or left up unusually long, and the posting doesn't say it's a talent pool.

Ghostless records the day it first sees a posting, so a repost can't reset its age.

Last checked Nov 4, 2026.

What the posting discloses

Not stated: Pay, real vacancy, AI screening.

Why these three

Ontario requires postings from employers with 25 or more staff to state the pay, whether the vacancy exists, and whether AI screens applicants.

Some employers add pay only on their own site. Check the original posting before you rule it out.

About the role

Here at Malwarebytes, we believe that when you’re free from threats, you’re free to thrive. It all started in 2008 with one person who needed help with a malware infection, and a community coming together to find solutions. In that moment in time a product was born for all people, with a mission to rid the world of malware. Our product has since grown and evolved, from removing malware, to protecting devices, to ever-changing prevention.

About Malwarebytes Inc.

Malwarebytes began after our founder, Marcin Kleczynski, accidentally infected his parents’ computer while downloading a video game as a teenager. At the time, there was no product that could fully solve the problem, so he set out to build one. That early experience shaped our mission: to create protection that works when people need it most.

Since then, the digital threat landscape has only grown more complex. Attackers are faster, stealthier, and more sophisticated, while traditional solutions often overwhelm people with complicated tools and settings. At Malwarebytes, we believe protection should be both powerful and refreshingly simple because if security feels too hard to use, people will not use it. That is why our aspiration is always to stay one step ahead: cutting through the noise, stopping threats others miss, and delivering peace of mind in an unpredictable digital world.

Malwarebytes is looking for..

Malwarebytes protects millions of people and businesses from online threats. We are looking for a Senior C++ Developer with strong systems programming experience to work on the core of our antivirus engine.

What You Will Do

  • Work on the antivirus engine: implement new detection and protection features
  • Build and maintain user and kernel-level components
  • Write safe, efficient C++ code that runs with high privileges on production systems
  • Debug hard system issues using crash dumps, kernel debuggers, and trace tools
  • Work with Research to bring new threat detection ideas into the engine
  • Review code and share knowledge with teammates
  • Use AI tools to speed up development and testing

In Your First Year You Will

  • Implement several new features in the antivirus engine, end to end
  • Contribute to both user mode and kernel mode components
  • Become a reliable owner of your area of the codebase

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of professional C++ development
  • Solid understanding of Windows internals at both user and kernel level
  • Strong debugging skills: WinDbg, crash dumps
  • High standards for code quality: solid grasp of SOLID principles and design patterns, applied consistently in a large codebase
  • Experience shipping software that runs with high privileges on production systems

Nice to Have

  • Experience with antivirus, EDR, or endpoint security products
  • Knowledge of Windows security features: ELAM, PPL, or kernel isolation
  • Experience with driver signing or HLK/WHQL certification
  • Familiarity with threat detection techniques or malware analysis
  • Knowledge of C# and .NET, including common patterns and best practices
