How we know

It hasn't been reposted, listed twice, or left up unusually long, and the posting doesn't say it's a talent pool.

Ghostless records the day it first sees a posting, so a repost can't reset its age. This one was already up when Ghostless started tracking Ecolab, so its true age is longer.

Last checked Nov 3, 2026.

What the posting discloses

Not stated: Pay, real vacancy, AI screening.

Why these three

Ontario requires postings from employers with 25 or more staff to state the pay, whether the vacancy exists, and whether AI screens applicants.

Some employers add pay only on their own site. Check the original posting before you rule it out.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team supporting our Global High-Tech business across Europe.

In this role, you will combine engineering leadership, people management and project delivery responsibility. You will oversee engineering activities across semi-standard solutions, customised hyperscaler solutions and complex Total Water Management projects, supporting projects from opportunity development and technical qualification through design, execution, commissioning and final handover.

You will work closely with commercial teams, engineering partners, Procurement, customers and other key stakeholders to develop scalable water treatment solutions and ensure projects are executed safely, on time, within budget and to the required technical standards.

What you will do

Lead and develop the engineering organisation

  • Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary GHT engineering team, including engineering leads, project engineers, project managers and back-office resources.
  • Set priorities and allocate resources across the opportunity and project portfolio.
  • Develop engineering capabilities, succession coverage and technical communities of practice.
  • Foster collaboration with the wider Central Engineering organisation and shared design, execution and commissioning resources.

Lead technical development of customer opportunities

  • Partner with CAMs, BDMs and technical stakeholders to qualify opportunities and translate customer requirements into effective engineering solutions.
  • Oversee solution architecture, design basis, project assumptions, scope boundaries, interfaces, risks and technical deviations.
  • Ensure technical proposals, estimates and schedules reach the required level of maturity before project commitment.
  • Provide senior technical leadership in discussions with customers, General Contractors, MEP contractors and engineering consultants.

Drive successful project delivery

  • Provide engineering and project governance from concept and detailed design through procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Ensure projects meet agreed requirements for scope, schedule, cost, quality, HSE and compliance.
  • Establish effective project review and escalation routines covering engineering maturity, interfaces, change control, resources and risks.
  • Support the resolution of critical technical and execution challenges.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and applied to future projects.

Build scalable engineering solutions

  • Develop reusable engineering standards, specifications, calculation methods, templates and approved equipment architectures.
  • Drive the development of scalable and modular GHT solutions while maintaining appropriate customisation for specific customer requirements.
  • Implement consistent design reviews, document control, quality assurance and technical approval processes.
  • Use project and commissioning feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Manage partners and stakeholders

  • Develop and manage external engineering partners and specialist resources.
  • Define clear scopes, quality expectations and performance standards for external partners.
  • Collaborate across Sales, CAM, ITC, RD&E, Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, HSE, Operations and Service.
  • Represent the GHT Engineering project portfolio in governance and leadership reviews.

What you will need

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Process, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in water and wastewater treatment process design.
  • Practical knowledge of design basis development, mass balances, process selection, equipment sizing and selection, PFDs, P&IDs and technical specifications.
  • Proven experience delivering water treatment plants through multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, performance testing and final handover.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex international projects.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes and packaged systems.
  • Good understanding of project commercial fundamentals, including CAPEX, cost control, change management, contracts and risk allocation.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly across Europe, up to 50%.

Preferred experience

  • Hyperscaler projects.
  • General Contractors, MEP contractors and engineering consultants.
  • Pretreatment and cooling tower blowdown treatment.
  • Water reuse.
  • RO/UF, filtration, clarification and DAF systems.
  • 3D/BIM coordination.
  • FAT/SAT and commissioning.
  • Additional European languages.

What success looks like

  • Safe and compliant project execution.
  • On-time engineering and project milestone delivery.
  • High-quality, first-time-right engineering deliverables with reduced rework.
  • Effective cost, margin, change and risk management.
  • Strong resource utilisation and partner performance.
  • Responsive, technically robust support for new opportunities.
  • Increased adoption of engineering standards and modular solutions.
  • Successful commissioning, handover and customer outcomes.
