How we know

It hasn't been reposted, listed twice, or left up unusually long, and the posting doesn't say it's a talent pool.

Ghostless records the day it first sees a posting, so a repost can't reset its age.

Last checked Nov 4, 2026.

What it asks of you

Must be a current student
“The ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or other degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university, with a focus in a relevant field.” (quoted from the posting)

What the posting discloses

Not stated: Pay, real vacancy, AI screening.

Why these three

Ontario requires postings from employers with 25 or more staff to state the pay, whether the vacancy exists, and whether AI screens applicants.

Some employers add pay only on their own site. Check the original posting before you rule it out.

About the role

The JM Family College Internship Program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team’s success, learn about JM Family’s companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events and much more.

The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time during the Summer Internship Program ( May 24th, 2027 - July 30th, 2027 ).

Interns will engage in meaningful work and gain insights into specific projects or tasks, providing hands-on experience, and contributing to various department initiatives. They will learn about JM Family’s culture including our core values: Consideration, Cooperation, Communication, Innovation and Accountability. These core values are part of our keys to success and the skills that embody these values are what drive our success as an organization.

As an AI & Decision Science Intern on SET’s AI & Advanced Analytics team, you will work alongside experienced data scientists to apply statistics, machine learning, and advanced analytics to real business challenges, including demand forecasting, optimization, and logistics planning. You will own a scoped project with mentorship, gain hands-on experience with how models move from prototype to production, and present your findings to the team and business stakeholders. Your contributions will help develop and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions that address key business opportunities across areas such as fixed operations, marketing, fleet, sales planning, distribution, and inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business opportunities and underlying data to identify potential advanced analytics use cases, assess value propositions, and recommend appropriate technical approaches.
  • Extract, clean, explore, and analyze complex datasets using SQL, Python, statistical analysis, and data mining techniques to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Design, develop, test, and refine statistical and machine learning models for business challenges such as demand forecasting, optimization, and logistics planning.
  • Support model development and deployment using the Microsoft technology stack, including Azure AI Foundry, Azure Machine Learning, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and validation methods, including holdout testing and cross-validation, while documenting results and limitations.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, business partners, and IT to understand business needs, translate them into analytical solutions, and support the development of AI tools for end-user consumption.
  • Write clean, reproducible code, maintain clear technical documentation, and communicate project progress and final findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements depending on the business need.
  • The ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or other degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university, with a focus in a relevant field. Candidates in related fields will also be considered. Must have completed at least one semester of coursework.
  • Relevant fields of study include Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Working knowledge of Python, including common data libraries such as Pandas and NumPy, and SQL skills including joins, aggregations, and filtering.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis, predictive and prescriptive analytics, and core machine learning concepts such as regression, classification, overfitting, train/test splits, and model evaluation. Hands-on experience with a machine learning framework such as Scikit-learn is preferred.
  • Preferred experience or exposure includes AI, time-series forecasting, optimization, experimental design, Git/GitHub, Microsoft Azure or Fabric, data visualization tools, and LLM-based tools such as RAG or AI coding assistants.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to learn new tools quickly and clearly explain technical concepts and analytical findings to non-technical audiences.
