About the role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and develop electrical systems for high-rise buildings and large-scale commercial projects.
We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of building electrical design experience, advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and the ability to produce coordinated, accurate, and construction-ready design packages.
Important: Relevant commercial building or high-rise electrical design experience is essential. Candidates with residential-only electrical design experience will not qualify.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for high-rise offices, condominiums, hotels, airports, municipal buildings, industrial facilities, and other complex commercial properties.
- Prepare electrical plans, layouts, details, specifications, and construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Perform electrical load calculations, establish system requirements, select equipment, and develop power distribution and lighting layouts.
- Apply applicable electrical codes, building regulations, and engineering standards throughout the design process.
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify design conflicts, omissions, and coordination issues.
- Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and other design professionals to ensure integrated project documentation.
- Review drawings and technical packages for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and constructability.
- Respond to construction-phase questions, assist with technical coordination, and incorporate necessary design revisions.
- Manage assigned design deliverables from initial development through final construction documentation.
- Collaborate with our project managers and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges, meet project deadlines, and maintain design quality.
Requirements
- 5+ years of electrical engineering or building systems design experience.
- Required: Advanced proficiency in both Revit and AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated experience designing electrical systems for high-rise buildings or complex commercial developments.
- Experience with commercial facilities such as office buildings, condominiums, hotels, airports, industrial properties, or municipal buildings.
- Strong knowledge of building electrical systems, electrical load calculations, applicable codes, and engineering design standards.
- Ability to interpret and coordinate architectural, structural, electrical, and other MEP construction drawings.
- Experience preparing detailed electrical designs and construction documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple design assignments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

- Experience working for an MEP consulting firm, particularly in South Florida.
