Do you want to help build the infrastructure powering real-time communication experiences across Microsoft Teams, Copilot, and Outlook?
The Real-Time Communications (RTC) Runtime Infrastructure team within Intelligent Conversation and Communication Cloud (IC3) develops and operates the foundational infrastructure supporting real-time communication experiences across Microsoft products. Our team focuses on service orchestration, reliability, security, and performance for services supporting millions of calls and meetings every day.
We are investing in emerging technologies to strengthen security, improve performance, and advance AI-driven engineering. Our work includes preparing services for post-quantum cryptography, improving video workload efficiency through hardware acceleration and low-level software optimization, and developing agentic workflows that use AI to monitor service health, diagnose issues, and support automated remediation with appropriate engineering oversight.
As a Software Engineer II on our team, you will design, develop, test, and maintain components of highly scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure. You will solve technical challenges involving distributed systems, performance, security, and service reliability while exploring and applying emerging technologies. You will collaborate with engineers and partner teams to deliver solutions that improve the performance, efficiency, and reliability of services operating at global scale.
