How we know

It hasn't been reposted, listed twice, or left up unusually long, and the posting doesn't say it's a talent pool.

Ghostless records the day it first sees a posting, so a repost can't reset its age. This one was already up when Ghostless started tracking Zipdev, so its true age is longer.

Last checked Nov 4, 2026.

What the posting discloses

AI screening
Uses AI to screen applicants
Critically review AI-generated tests to ensure assertions, mocks, and test scenarios accurately reflect application behavior. (quoted from the posting)

Not stated: Pay, real vacancy.

Why these three

Ontario requires postings from employers with 25 or more staff to state the pay, whether the vacancy exists, and whether AI screens applicants.

Some employers add pay only on their own site. Check the original posting before you rule it out.

About the role

About the Role

Our client is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, security, and compliance of a modern, cloud-based dental practice management platform. The application includes a Ruby on Rails backend and a React frontend.

This role will focus on manual and automated testing, improving test coverage, identifying defects, and ensuring software quality throughout the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Ranorex, Mabl, Postman, Selenium, or similar automation frameworks, along with experience using AI tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

You will work closely with developers and other stakeholders to identify issues early, strengthen regression testing, and establish reliable quality processes. Since the platform operates in a healthcare environment, a strong understanding of data privacy and the importance of protecting sensitive patient information is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests for web applications, APIs, and software integrations.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites using Ranorex, Mabl, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
  • Perform API testing using Postman or equivalent tools to validate endpoints, integrations, and expected application behavior.
  • Conduct functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
  • Collaborate with developers to identify testing requirements, improve test coverage, and prevent regressions.
  • Validate critical workflows, including scheduling, provider workflows, patient lookups, authentication, and other dental practice management functions.
  • Identify, document, reproduce, and track defects, providing clear steps, environment details, and expected versus actual results.
  • Support the development and maintenance of automated quality checks within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Review test results and identify gaps in test coverage, reliability, and overall software quality.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate test creation, identify coverage gaps, and improve QA workflows.
  • Critically review AI-generated tests to ensure assertions, mocks, and test scenarios accurately reflect application behavior.
  • Participate in code and pull request reviews to identify potential quality, security, and compliance risks.
  • Maintain test documentation, test cases, coverage reports, and QA procedures.
  • Work with synthetic and mock data exclusively to prevent exposure of real patient information.
  • Identify potential security vulnerabilities and patient data privacy risks during testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to continuously improve testing processes and release confidence.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in software quality assurance, including both manual and automated testing.
  • Hands-on experience with automation frameworks.
  • Experience designing, executing, and maintaining automated test suites.
  • Strong understanding and proven experience doing API testing.
  • Experience testing web applications, APIs, and third-party integrations.
  • Experience using Postman or similar tools to validate REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
  • Ability to investigate application behavior, reproduce defects, and document clear, actionable bug reports.
  • Experience collaborating with developers to improve test coverage and software quality.
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows, pull requests, and Agile development practices.
  • Ability to understand application behavior across frontend and backend systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
  • AI Tooling & Automation — Required
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code,
  • Experience using AI tools to support test generation, test automation, test case development, or coverage analysis.
  • Ability to evaluate AI-generated tests for correctness, meaningful assertions, and realistic test scenarios.
  • Ability to identify hallucinated mocks, incorrect assumptions, and tests that would not detect actual regressions.
  • Understanding that AI-generated code and tests must be reviewed and validated before being accepted.
  • Willingness to incorporate AI tools into existing QA processes to improve efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Nice to Have
  • Experience testing healthcare, dental, or other regulated SaaS applications.
  • Familiarity with dental practice management systems, such as Orthotrac, PracticeWorks, SoftDent, or WinOMS.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails and React applications.
  • Familiarity with RSpec, FactoryBot, WebMock, or VCR.
  • Experience with Playwright or other end-to-end testing frameworks.
  • Experience with performance and load testing tools such as k6 or Locust.
  • Familiarity with Azure Cosmos DB and document-based data structures.
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
  • Familiarity with healthcare data exchange standards such as HL7 or FHIR.
  • Experience with visual regression testing or component testing.
