How we know
It hasn't been reposted, listed twice, or left up unusually long, and the posting doesn't say it's a talent pool.
Ghostless records the day it first sees a posting, so a repost can't reset its age. This one was already up when Ghostless started tracking General Magic, so its true age is longer.

Not stated: Pay, real vacancy, AI screening.
Why these three
Ontario requires postings from employers with 25 or more staff to state the pay, whether the vacancy exists, and whether AI screens applicants.
Some employers add pay only on their own site. Check the original posting before you rule it out.

About the role
Who we are
For decades, insurance software has been built around rigid forms, portals and call centers that create friction for customers and drag for teams. Even as AI has advanced, most insurance work is still manual, slow and spread across disconnected systems.
General Magic builds AI agents that handle quoting, follow-ups, document collection, verification, claims intake and broker communication, connected directly to carrier, MGA and broker systems. We've raised $7.2M USD from Radical Ventures, a16z and several AI luminaries. We work onsite in Toronto five days a week.
The role
This is a co-op role on our engineering team. You'll work on the backend services, APIs and integrations that connect our agents to carrier, MGA and broker systems, and ship code that runs in production.
In this role, you will
- Build and extend APIs and backend services
- Work on integrations with insurance systems and third-party data sources
- Design data models and write queries that hold up as we grow
- Write tests, fix bugs and help keep our systems reliable
For this role, you should have
- Enrolment in a co-op program, ideally in computer science, engineering or a related field
- Backend projects you've built and shipped, whether at work, school or on your own
- Comfort with APIs, databases and at least one backend language, ideally Python
- The ability to find your way around an unfamiliar codebase
- A bias toward shipping and learning fast
