How we know

It hasn't been reposted, listed twice, or left up unusually long, and the posting doesn't say it's a talent pool.

Ghostless records the day it first sees a posting, so a repost can't reset its age.

Last checked Nov 3, 2026.

What it asks of you

5–12 years of experience
“5–12 years of experience in hardware design and development, with no more than 15 years of total experience.” (quoted from the posting)

What the posting discloses

Not stated: Pay, real vacancy, AI screening.

Why these three

Ontario requires postings from employers with 25 or more staff to state the pay, whether the vacancy exists, and whether AI screens applicants.

Some employers add pay only on their own site. Check the original posting before you rule it out.

About the role

Confidential Aviation Client is seeking an Avionics Hardware Design Engineer to support the design, development, and validation of advanced hardware systems in a highly regulated engineering environment. This role is suited to an engineer who is comfortable working across the full hardware development lifecycle, from early design work through testing, troubleshooting, and validation, with a strong emphasis on RF-focused hardware applications.

In this position, you will contribute to the development of avionics hardware that must perform reliably under demanding technical and environmental conditions. The role offers the opportunity to work on complex hardware challenges involving RF and microwave design, verification planning, and compliance-oriented testing, while partnering with teams that value disciplined engineering, technical rigor, and hands-on problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop avionics hardware.
  • Perform RF and microwave design and testing.
  • Create hardware requirements, specifications, and test plans.
  • Troubleshoot and debug hardware issues throughout development.
  • Conduct EMI/EMC, qualification, and environmental testing.
  • Use SPICE, ECAD/PCB design tools, and MATLAB throughout development and validation.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5–12 years of experience in hardware design and development, with no more than 15 years of total experience.
  • Hands-on experience with RF/microwave design and testing.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC testing, hardware troubleshooting, and qualification and environmental testing.
  • Working knowledge of SPICE tools such as LTspice, PSpice, or TINA, along with experience using ECAD/PCB design tools and MATLAB.
  • Background in aerospace, automotive, rail, medical devices, robotics, space, industrial products, or oil and gas.
  • Knowledge of GNSS concepts, including GPS signal structure and receiver processing.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Avionics, RF/Microwave Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition.
  • Familiarity with DO-160 or MIL-STD-461.
